Whidbey Island

Aug. 27, 2006

We left the house at 11 am traveling north towards where we could cross to Whidbey Island.  The Bridge at Deception pass had such amazing views.  We spent some time at the north and west beach at Deception Pass and then it was off again to our next destination.

Deception Pass

Deception Pass Bridge and Beach

After playing around at the Deception Pass State Park Beaches we drove on to Ebey Beach and Fort.

Dead Crab.  Lots of Horseshoe Crabs come to the beaches to spawn and then die.  We saw lots and lots of dead crabs but only 1 live one that some little boy had found and was keeping in a bucket.  We weren't that lucky.

You know the beaches could be a lot nicer if someone would just come and clear out all the dead trees.

Ebey Fort Guns

Where are they now?!

This is where the Gun should have been.

On our drive through Oak Harbor we saw that road sign and I made Chandler get out and take a picture of it for me.  Thought My Parents would get a kick out if it.  If you any of you didn't know my Maiden name was (Banta)

After driving even more we stopped at Fort Casey.  I was amazed by how big that thing was!  I think Ubisoft should totally make it into a Rainbow Six Map!  *hint hint*

Fort Casey

The Guns at Fort Casey were brought in from the Philippines as the originals where used as scrap metal for world war II.

What does this remind you of?  That's right it totally reminds of Rainbow Six!   I quite enjoyed seeing all the Forts.

The next thing we did was to go to Double Bluff Beach where we found TONS of sea shells but we didn't take any pictures of it and then the last thing of the day was to drive our car onto the Ferry boat that took us back to the mainland it was a really cool day!
